Location:
About 20 minutes out of Bryson City back along a winding mountain road sets the gated entrance to Above the World So High. The gated entrance gives the property the air of a private estate. Less than a mile past the gated entrance of Above the World So High is a public boat ramp to Fontana Lake. This vacation home's 60 acre mountain top property sets the standard for peaceful seclusion in a natural setting. However if, your looking for a little excitement, white water rafting the Nantahala River is about 30 minutes away and Harrah's casino in cherokee is also about 30 minutes away in the other direction.
Exterior:
The gated entrance to this property is down on the paved main road. To the side of the front gate is a parking area large enough pull in and drop off a bike or boat trailer. The driveway up through the 60 acre property is also paved all the way to top of the mountain. As you reach the top of the mountain where the driveway flattens out into a the gravel parking area you become immediately aware that you are vacationing at a private scenic overlook that is as big and beautiful as any of the popular overlooks of Smoky Mountain National Park. In fact just across the parking area is a private observation deck. The driveway continues again around the back of the house and heads back down the mountain. Out of the door from the sun room is the side patio; a great place to enjoy the cool mountain top fresh air. At night this vacation home's secluded mountain top location turns it into an incredible observatory where more stars fill the sky than can be counted.
Entry Level:
The Front door opens to a small mud room. To the right is the full kitchen stocked with all cooking and dining utensils. Pass thru the kitchen to enter the dinning room where a beautiful mountain view sets across from the 8 guest dining table. A door leading to the back patio and built in charcoal grill is also in the dinning room. Around the corner from the dinning room is a full bath and then the living room. A wood burning cast iron stove and mountain views sets the character of the living room. Past the living room toward the back of the house is the sunroom. The sunroom's windows surround you with the beautiful mountain views.
Upper Level / Loft:
A top the stairs is the second bedroom with a full size bed and a beautiful mountain view. The next door along the open loft walkway is a full bath. Next to this is the kids favorite bed room where two bunk bed give the kids a feeling of staying at camp. Past the kids room is the master bedroom with warm wood walls and a queen size bed. Outside the master bedroom the loft widens and a twin size daybed can be used for extra sleeping space.
