Location:
Green Mountain Inn is located in a small mountain community surrounding a small private lake. This lake is a popular swimming and fishing hole for the community residents and their guest. So, don't forget to bring your swimsuit and your lucky fishing rod. If you prefer to get out and explore the area; mountain biking in Tsali Recreation area is about 10 minutes up the road; white water rafting on the Nantahala River takes about 15 minutes to get to; the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Bryson City is about 25 minutes and the Cherokee entrance is about 35 minutes away. The drive to and from Green Mountain Inn will take you past beautiful scenic overlooks of Fontana Lake along HWY 28 and along a beautiful mountain streams lined by mountain laurel.
Exterior:
As you drive to Green Mountain Inn, you pass through a mountain community built when vacations were simpler and about spending time with family. The gravel driveway ends at the front door. A small deck off the parking area has seating and a charcoal grill for enjoying the fresh mountain air. To the right of the front door is a large deck over looking the forested surroundings. Here the air is alive with the sound of native birds playing in the trees. From the parking are a set of stairs next to the deck lead to a bench swing under the deck. This peaceful shaded location is a great spot to enjoy the fresh mountain air and watch the birds playing in the trees.
Entry Level:
The front screen door open with the familiar sound of summer to reveal a classic vacation cabin decor. Stepping in, you enter a short hallway. The first door on the right is the bathroom for the entry level. Straight ahead to a door to the 2nd bedroom with a queen size bed. As the hallway makes a right turn the full wall of windows let the forest view fill the remaining spaces of the cabin. The kitchen is on the right with a full size refrigerator, stove and microwave. The dining table is positioned to take advantage of the forest views. The living room is across from the dining table. The forest views, natural wood tones and stone gas log fireplace create relaxing atmosphere. A set of stairs rise from the living room to the loft, across from the window wall.
Loft Level:
The stairs in the living room rise to the loft master bedroom. The queen size bed is positioned so that you can wake to the open forest view. The master bedroom has a private full bath off the loft.
