Location:

Black Bear Estate is located just outside of Bryson City, NC. perched on a hillside over looking the Smoky mountains and within a mile of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. This is a great location to choose if you want to be in the middle of all the activities and attractions in cherokee and Nantahala, but stay a short distance from the shops and restaurants of Bryson City. Cherokee is about a 10 minute drive and Nantahala is about 15 minutes in the other direction.

Exterior:

The road to Black Bear Estate is paved up to the gravel parking area. You can pull right up to the large covered entranceway. The side yard is accessed from a passageway next to the garage. In the side yard is a fire pit where you can roast marshmallows or just warm your self by the fire and watch the lights in the valley below turn on and the stars above glow. Black Bear Estate has two large decks. The upper deck is open and accessed from the living room and master bedroom. The view here is beautiful and you might find your self spending more time out here than inside. The rocking chairs on the upper deck are a great place to watch the clouds climb up the mountains and the sun rises. Around towards the side yard on the deck is a gazebo with a dinette set for an outdoor meal with a mountain view. The lower level deck is shaded by the upper deck and is accessed from the two lower bedrooms. The lower deck has a similar mountain view as the upper deck. Soothe you tired muscles in a covered hot tub tucked in a private corner on the lower deck.

Entry Level:

The covered entranceway leads to a large carved wood front door. As you step through the front door you enter into a large open floor plan with cathedral ceiling and mountain views straight ahead. The first area is the full kitchen. The kitchen is designed so that even when preparing a quick meal you can still enjoy the views of the mountains and fireplace. The kitchen comes fully stocked with all common appliances including dish washer, all cooking and dinning utensils. Past the kitchen is the dinning area. The table seats 4 guest and has a great view of the scenic mountains outside. The bar in the kitchen seats 2 more guest. To the right of the kitchen and dining areas is the living room. Here comfortable leather sofas are positioned to take advantage of the warm glow of the stone gas log fireplace and scenic mountain views out the glass doors. Though we are sure you will spend more time enjoying the mountain views; a satellite TV is also in the living area. The upper deck is accessed through the glass doors in either the dinning or living rooms. Immediately to the right of the front door is the stair way down to the lower level. Past the stairs is the door to the master bedroom. The living room fireplace passes through to the master bedroom. A king size bed rests opposite the fireplace. The scenic mountain views are visible through glass doors leading out to the upper deck. This allows the beautiful mountain sunrise to be enjoyed with out getting out of bed.

Lower Level:

The stairs from the upper level end in a long family room where a futon sits opposite a satellite TV mounted in a corner. The door straight across from the bottom of the stairs is the second bedroom. This room has a queen size bed and mountain views out the glass doors. The glass door open to the lower deck. The next door off the family room is the third bedroom. it also has a queen size bed and mountain view through a glass door that opens to the lower deck and hot tub. The last door off the family room is a full bath.
